Lush 500kV Hydropower Station
Located on the Songhua River in Jilin City, Jilin Province, the Fengman Hydropower Station was first constructed in 1937. It was one of China's largest hydropower plants in the early years of the People's Republic of China and remains the most important water control hub in Northeast China. While fulfilling critical tasks such as power generation, flood control, and ecological environmental protection, the station has also provided professional management personnel—more than 2,000 individuals—to major hydropower projects like Gezhouba and the Three Gorges Dam. As a result, it is widely acclaimed as China's "Mother of Hydropower" and the "Cradle of Hydropower." In 2012, the comprehensive renovation (reconstruction) project of the Fengman Hydropower Station officially commenced, and by 2019, the reconstruction was completed and the station resumed operation, generating electricity once again. Shanghai OUMIAO actively participated in the commissioning and online monitoring of primary equipment at Fengman.

While fulfilling critical tasks such as power generation, flood control, and ecological environmental protection, the station has also provided over 2,000 professional management personnel to major hydropower projects like Gezhouba and Three Gorges. As a result, it is proudly known as China's "Mother of Hydropower" and the "Cradle of Hydropower." In 2012, the comprehensive renovation (reconstruction) project of the Fengman Hydropower Station officially commenced, and by 2019, the reconstruction was completed and the station resumed operation, generating electricity once again. Shanghai OUMIAO actively participated in the commissioning of the online monitoring system for primary equipment at Fengman.
The project was initially put into trial operation in 2017, and the online monitoring components added in 2019 for the 500kV GIS system both utilized Shanghai OUMIAO’s online monitoring products. These monitoring systems include: a 500kV bushing/CT capacitive equipment monitoring system, a 500kV circuit breaker mechanical characteristic online monitoring system, a 500kV surge arrester insulation online monitoring system, a 500kV GIS micro-water density online monitoring system, a 500kV GIS partial discharge online monitoring system, and a 500kV SF6 leak detection and alarm online monitoring system. Notably, the 500kV GIS online monitoring system was developed in collaboration with ABB, while the transformer online monitoring system was jointly implemented with Shandong Electric Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
Enhanced online condition monitoring methods have ensured stable operation since the hydropower station was put into service. The equipment boasts strong anti-interference capabilities and reliable communication, while the system software delivers robust functionality, clear data visualization, and comprehensive graphical representations. It also features a variety of historical trend analyses and comparative curves, along with powerful alarm functions whose parameters can be easily customized. Additionally, the system supports seamless report exports, significantly reducing the workload of manual inspections—and effectively safeguarding the safe operation of the substation's primary equipment! As a result, it has received unanimous praise from the owner organization!
