OM.A300 Smart Substation Online Monitoring and Comprehensive Diagnostic System

    Architecture Description

    ● The intelligent substation comprehensive diagnostic system can serve as a subsystem and be integrated into the substation information integration design. When operating as a standalone system, it adheres to the DL/T 860 standard, enabling seamless information exchange with the substation’s integrated information platform. The intelligent substation edge computing diagnostic system adopts a hierarchical, distributed, and open architecture, with its overall structure divided into three layers: the comprehensive diagnostic layer, the aggregation node layer, and the perception layer.

    ● The intelligent substation edge computing layer primarily consists of integrated diagnostic terminals, which communicate with bay-level devices according to the DL/T 860 standard. These terminals provide a human-machine interface for in-station operations, enabling functions such as displaying status monitoring data (including real-time and historical data), trend analysis, and equipment condition alerts. Additionally, the data from the integrated diagnostic terminals can be exchanged with the substation’s integrated information platform.

    ● The aggregation node layer consists of multiple aggregation node terminals, organized around single-bay substations as individual units. On-site installation of these aggregation node terminals enables functions such as data collection, aggregation, and transmission from various types of sensing devices. Each aggregation node terminal features a standard full-width rack-mounted chassis, while all digital and analog signal acquisition boards utilize a common backplane for communication with the mainboard—ensuring independence among components for easy expansion and replacement.

    ● The sensing-layer device is installed directly on the monitored main equipment unit and can feature an integrated design that interfaces seamlessly with the main equipment.

    Product Overview
The intelligent substation comprehensive diagnostic terminal is deployed within the substation, seamlessly integrating artificial intelligence technology with edge devices. It fully leverages the data resources from connected equipment to create an integrated online monitoring platform tailored for the substation environment. This terminal uses the IEC61850 protocol to access, process, compute, analyze, and diagnose status monitoring information from various integrated or condition-monitoring units within the substation—and even forwards this data to the main station system. Additionally, it features a user-friendly web-based data query function, enabling operators to easily browse real-time and historical data from all online monitoring systems and other connected devices across the entire substation. Through its advanced integrated system, the terminal performs comprehensive diagnostic analyses on connected equipment, enabling accurate data-based alerts and proactive equipment health warnings. As a result, it significantly enhances the operational reliability of the substation.
