    Product Overview
    The OM.R927 cable fault location and online monitoring system is installed on the cable body and sheath at both ends, continuously monitoring for partial discharge hazards and fault-induced traveling-wave currents, as well as fault-related power-frequency currents. It simultaneously collects these signals and transmits them to the central station, enabling real-time monitoring of the cable's operational status and precise localization of fault locations.


    Architecture Description
    ● Front-end device
    Power supply methods: Wired power supply or CT-coupled power extraction.
    Communication methods: Utilizing fiber optics (EPON), 485 communication, and other such methods.
    Sensors: Power-frequency current sensor, partial-discharge traveling-wave current sensor, and fault traveling-wave current sensor; these sensors enable the monitoring of sheath grounding currents and main cable operating currents, respectively, as well as partial-discharge monitoring and early warning of potential faults. They also facilitate data acquisition for functions such as fault location.
    ● Backend System
    The background service program provides abnormal cable current alerts, partial discharge alarms, equipment status alerts, as well as fault analysis and fault location reports.

    Configure the application
    The terminal device consists of two main components: a signal acquisition module and the terminal host unit. The signal acquisition module includes a traveling-wave acquisition module and a power-frequency acquisition module, which are installed respectively on the grounding wire of the terminal grounding box and on the conductor of the terminal cable. The terminal host unit comprises a power supply module and a communication module, with the host unit mounted close to the terminal grounding box. There are two methods for powering the system: either by coupling power directly from the load current, or by using an external power source—users can choose the method that best suits their specific situation. Together, these two systems can effectively provide early fault detection and precise location for cable faults along up to 10 kilometers of cable length. For cable lines longer than 10 kilometers, an additional system unit must be installed at intermediate points to ensure comprehensive monitoring coverage.

     


    Branchless Cable Configuration Solution
    For cable lines without branch circuits (including overhead cables mixed with other types), monitoring terminals can be installed at both the beginning and end of each cable line.

     


    T-Joint Cable Configuration Scheme
    For T-connected cable lines, monitoring terminals can be installed at both ends of each line as well as at the T-connection point, enabling fault section localization and precise pinpointing along the entire line.
